Reporters reach out to the founding team via phone call, Instagram or Facebook messenger or whatsapp.
We assess the situation and suggest a course of action depending on the nature of the information provided by the reporter
If medical attention is needed we guide the reporter to the nearest partner vet and get treatment after which the kitten/cat is transferred to a foster home.
In cases where surgery, follow on care is required we support the foster with inputs on home care and also work closely with the vet to ensure 100% recovery.
Fosters are supported with learning from medical experts, veteran animal rescuers, trauma teams from overseas and other resources.
Adoption is an ongoing process with 20-25 adoptions monthly, enabling the freeing up of foster home space , that allows us to continue taking in more cases.
BCS does everything a shelter does but with zero overheads (such as staff, infrastructure etc).
We can afford to always provide the best medical care since we are not dependent on a single vet or clinic. This has meant mortality rate for even severe trauma cases is very low.
Fostering at home also means that the adoption rate is 100%. Through our concerted efforts to create awareness around the adoption of rescued animals, we are proud to say that we have found homes for special needs cats (two-legged, blind, deaf) in addition to orphans, injured and abandoned animals we care for.
All volunteers foster injured, rescued animals at their homes. Our model allows the freeing up of space at animal shelters so that only the most deserving cases
Fosters do not just donate their time, home and skills but also play an important role in educating others about our work.

Through our open-sourced learning network we reach out to rescuers and also support rescuers across the country attempting to set up/ run their own rescue network and to support them with knowhow
